Let'sget into the show, welcome back to anroman growthuniversity, he proud member of the connect Edu podcast network, I'Mari,Golson AVP of marketing at helics education and we're here today withMichael Price, chief and Roman officer at North Central University, MikeWelcome to the show yeah glad to Beherr. Thank you really excited to talk withyou today about how institutions can get creative with employer partnershipsand specifically, how religiously affiliated institutions can partnerwith churches on Enroman Growth Initiative, but before we dingedto thatMike, can you get the listeners a little bit better understanding of bothNorth Central University and your role...

...there yeah. My role is chief and Romanofficer at North Central, so I oversee e missions, marketing and financial aidfor the university. The university is located in downtown Minneapolis, we'rejust a couple blocks from US bank stadium. We are a religiouslyaffiliated university and O r. Our denomination is semilies of God. Churchdedomination awesome, like employer partnerships, are often underpursued orat least under executed on in highred, for a religious institution withreligious, specific degree programs talk about the benefits andopportunities of partnering, with Churches to increase in Rolment yeah.So we have a couple of dynamitics that are happening right now, north Centrhalone is. We have a fairly new president he's a year into his presidency, butthis is one of his key initiatives has begin to a partnerwith churches. Particularly AG church is to SEM, I is, of God, churches thatare desirable in parting. What the...

University Eto help them kind of trainkind of their next leaders in terms of ministry admissions and then to we are,you know a little bit behind times, but we are really moving forward withlaunching our Brad and online programs at the university, and so one of ouriniciatives is really to say. Strategic Partnerships are important inpartnerships with our churches are important. That's one of the avigueswere really using to really lanch our programs for our programs. Really loveit like when people think of employer partnerships in highred, they oftenthink of some kind of nominal tuition discount to incentivize a company tosuggest yours, end employees to your institution, but talk about the muchdeeper dual credit partnerships you're creating with these AG affiliatedChurches Yeah. So we have a couple really interesting aspect AR program none is. We obviously do offer a discount four students at ten arprogram through a partnership, so you know they're going to pay. You knowless in per credit ce the other...

...students that might come through otherchannels, and part of that is because we're asking the church to help withsome of those services. The other dynamic is our program for the AGthere's couple aspetts or proarm that are beneficial one. It provides agpredentials, which is really important. If you ever want to be a pastor or workin Ha Church and then to is the churches can set up integrativelearning experience. So, like an internship, you could say in which theyhave to bee certain divelines around our program and Yo guylines around likeHlc and things that you know because Tete's acredit baring corse, but the nice thing is the church- has some flexibilitydetermined what that is as hon as they meet our guidn ights around theTurriculum and so they'll see this will progress throughout their few yearprogram in an incernship or a practical...

...learning experience in which they haveto really engage with the church apply the curriculum in a way that makes itreally acsibaballe to them. You mentioned that integrated learningexperience. This really is a true partnership, where the churchesthemselves have some responsibility in terms of marketing recruit men studentsupport for those students in this dual credit program. Is it too early to knowhow much recruitment help Youre actually going to get from thesechurches versus how much o your internal marketing team winl need todrive these efforts yeah? So I think you know this ill flash out from northcentral, obviously over the next year, because we have one pilot church now iythink he gives us a framework and really ta frame or becase. I look at ita bundled service in terms that the the church is going to be responsible tohelping you know the generation marketing help with the retruitingprocess and then obviously on the backand really help tes students or inretention. So you know how we see that the relationship evolving in essence isthe church. Is You know, going to be...

...really the arms to market thepartnership, whether they do that to their Tiner dation? They do it throughthe community. They do it through connections. They have they're going tobe responsible for making connections with those students. Talking about theprogram talking about the application process, they'll even be responsiblefor helpbeing cluck documents. There needed to get that student to adecision point where we can make a decision. Tha decisional deal theresponsibility of the of the university or us, and then that's where our teamwill really engage more proactively is once that students really admittedbecause wee got to get them den through the financial ad process, which isgoing to be our responsibility as university. We e reg have to get themto the registration process and then they'll be in a sense in another hand,op that will happen where the then the churches will provide a a studentorientation for those students, in conjunction with you know, the keyareas of the university as you're trying to establish these partnershipswith local churches. What are the value...

...propositions? You focus oncommunicating to them. Well, I think you know one is you? Obviously, we Yohave a program that design to incorporate that integrative learningexperience for the student, which higly be highly valuable for the church, because in some sense the church wants to have the opportunity to kind ofraise ad a local people in the church to continue to pursue ministryopportunity. This really gets an opportunity for the church to do that right in terms of being ableto train them, be on to connect with them teony kind of integrate themwithin the community. So there's some great aspirations for the church to dothat, an especially within our denomination, which I said is ag that'shighly desirable that day AAC we, you know we get several turches o lookingfor partnerships fir the universities and, secondly, it becomes. You knowsomewhat of a revenue stream, let's face it for the churches, so we, youknow in a sense, are pain for some...

...services that church are providing inorder to you know, recruit and retaining students to the servicesthat they're offering this. So there's some financial benefit as well love. Itlove it Mike, as you continue to build out these partnerships, what hisexcited you about the future of employer in church partnerships innorth central. What could be well, I am, I really see now you never know whenwindows open and close and there's an opportunity for north central to reallymore proactively grow are student population through partnership. So I amin general, a very big fan of strategic partnerships that can really levorage. You know the partner and the expertise to grow in Rolman instead of thetrditional meeds of really doing that through saying well we're just GOINGNA,he sense spend a ton of marking dollars and don't get me wrong. I think that'sa healthy mix of what you're doing an...

...need to do in order to grow an Romat, but in some cases for a school like more central, being small, a smallerprivate, school and kind of resource restricted. In a way, these are greatopportunities to build partnerships. You know through affiliations that wealready have that can really help us grow, enrolment, Andami, acceleratedpace, in my opinion, edalor cost to because they're going to be handlingsome of those services fors, which we just are capable on the sense of doingtoday, Mike. Finally, any next TEPs advice for other religiously affiliatedinstitutions looking to deep in their enrollment partnerships with localchurches yeah, I just think pursue it. I would say if my big advice take alook at it. I think sometimes we're so deary of kind of outside partnershipsand someof, especially when it comes to recruiting marketing studen support.Sometimes there's this pressure or tension around you know is this evenpossible. JUS tis violate anyacredating...

...issues and there's a lot of language out therein the marketplace and through HLC that and that really promotes these type ofpartnerships. But you got to be somewhat proacted in doing that. Youknow, I think for us, because we have such a strong affinity withdenomination is just it really is really had no brainer for us to kind ofmove forward in this direction. So I would say just be proacted. Look atways of diversifying your port folio in terms of how you're finding studentsharder partnern cartigically to do that Mike thanks. So much for your timetoday, what's the best place for listeners to connect with you if theyhave any follow up questions yeah, probably my best and just use my norcentral email, which is mi price pr ice at North Central.
